IE6 warning system

Warn users with IE6 or older to upgrade their browser

The release of IE7 was back in the autumn of 2006, and its successor IE8 is now widely available. But somehow, there are still people and system admins that feel you should a browser from the summer of 2001. As Microsoft have stopped any support on IE6, so the last reason to keep IE6 has now also been taken away.

We have a very easy solution to warn IE6 users to upgrade. You can use it in two ways.

Method 1:

Insert one single line of code in your website.

Copy the code below and enter this in your HEAD area of your website.

With that code inplace you have to add an onload call to IEW_Init(); .

Method 2:

Download the following zip file, upload it to your server. Once online you can modify the iewarning.css file. You can also edit the JavaScript file to give an other warning.
